AFP-400 Fire Alarm Systems--Stand Alone or Distributed Network

The AFP-400 manufactured by Notifier is a medium size addressable system designed primarily for facilities requiring voice or firefighters telephone in addition to fire alarms. It also makes a superb network node in large networked fire alarm systems where distributed voice and firefighters telephone can produce dramatic savings in installation labor over central voice.

System Highlights

The AFP400 can address 396 addressable points of multiplexed detection and control. It is fully field programmable without special tools or need of a laptop computer, and provides fire protection while being programmed. The basic configuration features a full 80 character backlighted liquid crystal display, 800 event history in non-volatile memory, and can automatically test smoke detectors to conform to the NFPA 72 calibrated sensitivity testing for fire alarm systems. It supports distributed voice and fire fighters telephone in networked applications or as a stand alone system.

The AFP-400 is also capable of controlling independent releasing zones for the control and supervision of FM-200, Inergen, FE-13 or pre-action sprinkler fire suppression systems.

Voice and Fire Fighters Telephone System

The AFP400 can be fully equipped with emergency voice paging, message playback, and fire fighters telephone systems. Common configurations include single, dual, or triple channel voice with full amplifier backup, manual override of automatic messages. When combined with the AM-2020 control panel or other control panels such as the AFP-200, the AFP-400 is capable of distributed voice and firefighters telephone.

Networked Fire Alarm Systems

Transponders, AM-2020, AFP-200 and AFP-400 control panels can be connected to the built-in networking standard to the Notifier family of addressable control panels, and the resulting networked fire alarm system can address even more points. With networking, huge fire alarm systems can be constructed for an entire high rise or a cluster of buildings. And the resulting system will be listed with UL 1076 for security systems as well.
