Founded in 1955 by Ernest Horvath, Reliable Fire Equipment Company has grown from a single truck to one of the largest fire protection distributors in the Chicago area. Our activities cover the full spectrum of fire protection.

The company's three divisions are structured to cover each of the various segments of the Fire Protection Market.

The Most Modern Hydrostatic Testing Equipment in Chicago

The Portables Division concentrates on the sales and service of portable fire extinguishers, fire hose, pre-engineered restaurant fire suppression systems, and the assorted traditional products which a customer would expect from a fire protection company.

The Systems Division sales and service includes Engineered Halon, Inergen, FM-200, FE-13, foam, carbon dioxide and dry chemical fire suppression systems, fire alarm, burglar alarm, security, CCTV and card access control systems. Reliable also provides U.L. Approved Central Station Monitoring and service for fire alarm, burglar alarm, and security systems.

The First Aid Division is structured to sell and service First Aid Cabinets and related safety equipment.
